Additional Notes for GrandView LT Users\r\n A. GrandView 2.0:\r\n 1. GrandView LT is a specially designed version of GrandView 2.0,\r\n Symantec's full-featured outliner. For more information on\r\n GrandView 2.0 and a special upgrade offer, see Appendix B of the\r\n GrandView LT user guide.\r\n B. Printing:\r\n 1. GrandView LT was designed as a companion product for Freelance\r\n Graphics, and therefore includes only minimal printing\r\n capabilities. When using GrandView LT, you are internally\r\n connected to the program's TTY driver which provides standard,\r\n unformatted courier output to dot matrix and laser printers\r\n (Note: GV LT will not print to Postscript printers, however you\r\n can export your outline to most word processors through the ASCII\r\n file format and print your file from your word processor).\r\n C. Freelance Graphics Customize Dialog\r\n 1. Text chart margins will not accept fractional percentages\r\n (example: 2.5% is not an acceptable value for this field).\r\n 2. When saving a new Freelance Graphics text chart style, be sure NOT\r\n to give it an existing chart style name, or it will overwrite the\r\n existing style without warning.\r\n D. Setting Colors in GrandView LT\r\n 1. GrandView LT, just like the full version of GrandView, lets you\r\n customize the color of any of your screen elements through the\r\n Customize Color dialog on the Color submenu (under the Setup Menu).\r\n\r\n 2. The following elements appear in the Customize Colors dialog, but\r\n are not functional in GrandView LT. They relate to commands\r\n included in GrandView 2.0. Because they are inactive in this\r\n special version, choosing colors for these elements will have no\r\n effect on your outlines:\r\n a) Underline\r\n b) Boldface\r\n c) Italics\r\n d) Superscript\r\n e) Subscript\r\n f) Format Tags\r\n g) Text in Columns\r\n h) Cursor in Columns\r\n i) Marked labeling\r\n j) Highlight in Calendar\r\n E. Command Line Parameters\r\n 1. Both GrandView LT and Freelance Graphics have certain command line\r\n parameters that can be used to affect how the programs operate. The\r\n Freelance Graphics large and small options work when using\r\n GrandView LT. Just type GVFL L or GVFL S.\r\n 2. GrandView LT lets you use the command line parameter, /RD to\r\n specify the use of hard disk for swapping instead of using EMS\r\n memory.\r\n F. IBM PS/2 Mouse Driver\r\n 1. Version 3.0 or lower of the IBM PS/2 mouse drivers are not\r\n supported when using GrandView LT.\r\n G. Running GrandView LT in Windows 3.0\r\n 1. When running GrandView LT in a window, Windows 3.0 controls the\r\n mouse events. If you click the mouse inside the windowed\r\n application, you are selecting a region of that window that can be\r\n copied to the clipboard.\r\n 2. The Alt-Enter combination key creates a sub-headline in GrandView\r\n LT, but when running Windows 3.0 Alt-Enter will toggle from full\r\n screen mode to window mode and vice versa. However, if you are\r\n running Windows 3.0 in enhanced mode you can reserve this key for\r\n GrandView LT to use. To reserve this combination key for GrandView\r\n LT, set the Alt-Enter key switch ON in the Reserve Shortcut Keys in\r\n the Advanced options of your PIF file.\r\n 3. If you are using the EMM386.sys driver or any memory manager to\r\n simulate expanded memory and you want GrandView LT to make use of\r\n expanded memory, make sure you set enough memory for this to take\r\n effect. To calculate how much expanded memory GrandView LT will use\r\n for swapping during a particular Freelance Graphics session, add\r\n 22K to the amount of free memory (i.e. conventional memory in your\r\n system before loading GrandView LT or Freelance Graphics). For\r\n example, if you have 490K of free memory, GrandView LT will require\r\n 512K for swapping.\r\n H. Saving Text Charts when using a RAM Drive.\r\n 1. When creating your Freelance Graphics text charts from a GrandView\r\n LT outline with a RAM drive, it is advised that you specify a\r\n target drive other than the RAM Drive for saving your text charts.\r\n I. EGA (Enhanced Graphics Adapter) users.\r\n 1. If you are using an EGA monitor with the Quadram Quad EGA graphics\r\n adapter card, you may see color changes when switching from\r\n GrandView LT to the Charts and Drawings page in Freelance\r\n Graphics. To restore the correct colors, simply switch to any form\r\n (i.e. the Print Options form, Help, Chart) and then return to the\r\n Charts and Drawings page.\r\n J. GRAPHICS.COM\r\n 1. GVLT will not work if the GRAPHICS.COM file is in your\r\n autoexec.bat file. Please remove this file from your autoexec.bat\r\n file before running GVLT.\r\n K. IBM 3270\r\n 1. GrandView will not load on an IBM 3270 PC.\r\n L. Documentation Error for Gathering Command.\r\n 1. In page 104 of the GrandView LT User's Guide, in the \"Selecting,\r\n Marking, and Gathering\" section, there are references to the\r\n gather command, but this command is not functional in GrandView\r\n LT." }
