In the United States and Canada, call\r\n(818) 457-8880.\r\n\r\n\r\nINSTALLING SUPERFAX\r\n===================\t\t\t \r\n\r\nPlease ensure that there is at least 1.5 MB of free hard disk space \r\nbefore installing the Superfax software. After installation, please \r\nensure that there is adequate free disk space (at least 1.0 MB) for the \r\ncommunication software to store incomming faxes.\r\n\r\nThe SuperFax installation program is a WINDOWS based program. That is, \r\nthe INSTALL program can only be run within the WINDOWS environment. DO NOT \r\nselect the \"DOS\" icon in Windows and try to run the SuperFax Install program \r\nin the DOS shell.\r\n\t\t \r\nTo INSTALL SuperFax:\r\n\r\n1. Insert the SuperFax Install diskette into drive A.\r\n2. If WINDOWS is already started, select the RUN option from the \r\n PROGRAM Manager menu and type: A:\\INSTALL.\r\n\r\n Otherwise,\r\n\tType A: to switch to the A drive.\r\n\tAssuming the search path contains the WINDOWS programs directory,\r\n\tType WIN INSTALL and press ENTER to start Windows and Superfax\r\n\tInstallation routine. \r\n\r\n For additional installation procedures, please refer to the \r\n SuperFax User's Guide.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nNEW FEATURES\r\n============\r\n\r\nAUTOMATIC FAX BOARD DETECTION\r\n\r\nThe SuperFax Installation program has been improved with a new feature --\r\nthe Automatic Fax Board Detection. This feature enables you to automatically\r\nconfigure your fax modem among all the various typs of modems so that it could\r\noperate flawlessly under its manufacturer's specifications. The Auto\r\nFax Board Detection should correctly detect all the Class 1 and Class 2 \r\nmodems existed today. \tIf you have any problems with sending or receiving\r\na fax, please contact your local dealer or Pacific Image Communications, Inc.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nBACKGROUND OPERATION\r\n\r\nWe have just added the background fax operation starting with the\r\nsoftware version 5.00.03. This feature enables you to continue using\r\nany Windows applications while the fax is being sent or received.\r\nWith this feature, the SuperFax program would no longer freezes the\r\nentire Windows operations during fax operations.\r\n\t\t\t\t\t \t\r\nPlease keep in mind that you should only perform normal Windows operations\r\nduring background fax transmissions. Certain Windows operations, such as\r\nsizing an application window, may interfere with the performance of the\r\nfax program running in the background mode, thus resulting in fax \r\ncommunication errors.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n14.4 Kbps FAX MODEM SUPPORT\r\n\r\nSuperFax is staying ahead of the communications game by supporting the \r\nnewest advances in today's technology. Now you can utilize the 14.4\r\nKbps transmission capabilities that your fax board has incorporated\r\n(check your fax board manual to see if supports 14.4 Kbps). As with\r\nany leading edge technology, there will most likely be some unresolved\r\nproblems, please set the communications rate to 9600 bps or lower.\r\n\r\nTo set the communications rate to 9600 (or lower), select the Set FAX\r\nParameters option from the Fax menu. Now, select 9600 (or lower) from \r\nthe RATE field. Highlighting HIGHEST will result in setting the fax \r\nboard to it's highest possible transmission rate. The SuperFax instal-\r\nlation will determine and set itself to the highest transmission rate\r\navailable from your fax board.\r\nhowever enter FOOTER.LGO as the file name for the footer section.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nCOMMON SUPERFAX PROBLEMS\r\n========================\r\n\r\nI) Group or item-icons for the SuperFax application are not created.\r\n This usually happens when the Program Manager Window does not appear.\r\n (For instance, the Program Manager Window will disappear when \r\n the NORTON Desktop For Windows is running). \r\n\r\n To fix the problem:\t\t\r\n\r\n 1. Run Program Manager (choose Run... from the File menu, then\r\n type PROGMAN).\r\n\r\n 2. Minimize it (not necessary, but convenient).\r\n\r\n 3. Re-Run the SuperFax's install program.\r\n\r\n\r\nBug Fixes\r\n=========\r\n\r\nThe problems listed below were some problems that were found in SuperFax \r\n5.00.04. They have been corrected and the fixes are reflected in the\r\nlatest version - SuperFax 5.00.05. If you have a previous version,\r\nyou may or may not have been effected by these problems.\r\n\r\n\r\n1.\tToo long of a delay in executing a Batch Fax.\r\n\r\n2.\tSending a fax from Notepad resulted in a fax with very small fonts.\r\n\r\n3.\tWhen rotating an image, a line towards the center of the image \r\n\tremained unaltered (portion of image not rotated).\r\n\r\n4.\tSharing Violations were found on some files.\r\n\r\n5.\tMemory depleted after sending 300 faxes.\r\n\r\n6.\tOperations that require considerable CPU time would not release\r\n\tcontrol to other programs in the Windows multitasking environment.\r\n\r\n7.\tCannot print to HP DeskJet 500C" }
