fax/modem adheres to the CAS standard:\r\n1. Install your CAS-compatible hardware according to the \r\nmanufacturer's instructions.\r\n2. Install FaxMaster; when the Transmit Setup dialog box appears, \r\nselect CAS in the Hardware/Port list box. \r\n\r\nIntel Fax/Modems\r\nIf you have a SatisFAXtion Model 400e board, follow the Intel\r\nRelease Notes carefully to be sure your board is set up to\r\nwork within Windows 3.1. You must have Intel's FaxAbility and\r\nSatisFAXtion software installed on your hard disk. \r\nThe SatisFAXtion Model 100 may reverse the characters of the \r\nreceiver ID. The receiver ID appears in Receive Log view below the \r\nthumbnail of the received fax. The ID is provided for informational \r\nuse only and does not affect FaxMaster performance.\r\n\r\nWhen Sending to an HP LasetJet Fax:\r\nDe-select \"Send Fax Header\" in the Options section of the Dial Fax \r\ndialog box. If you send a fax header, the receiver of the fax may get \r\na blank page between each received fax page. \r\n\r\nLocating the FaxMaster... Command\r\nYou must run a special installation macro to set up FaxMaster with \r\nthe following applications:\r\n\tWord for Windows 2.0\r\n\tWordPerfect\r\n\tExcel 3.0\r\n\tAmi Pro 2.0\r\n\r\nSee Chapter 2, Getting Started, for detailed instructions on \r\ninstalling FaxMaster with these programs. If the hot-key combination conflicts with your application, \r\nselect a different hot key by selecting System in the FaxMaster \r\nSetup menu.\r\nIf an error message tells you that FaxMaster won't work with the \r\napplication, view faxes by opening FaxMaster from the Program \r\nManager. Send faxes by using the following method.\r\n\r\nSending from an Application Without the FaxMaster... Command\r\nFaxMaster uses your fax/modem hardware like a printer: to send a \r\nfax, you select the FaxMaster driver in your printer setup.\r\n1.\tSelect Printer Setup in your application's File menu.\r\n\tThe Printer Setup dialog box will appear. \r\n\tIf you cannot choose a printer driver from the dialog box, \r\nselect the FaxMaster printer driver via the Windows Control Panel. \r\nOpen the Control Panel, select Printers, and highlight the \r\nFaxMaster driver.\r\n2.\tSelect the FaxMaster printer driver.\r\n\tIf necessary, click Connect to set up the FaxMaster driver \r\nwith the COM port your fax/modem is set to.\r\n3.\tClick OK.\r\n4.\tSelect Print... in the application's File menu.\r\n5.\tClick OK.\r\n\tThe Dial Fax dialog box will appear.\r\n\r\nFax/Modem to Fax/Modem Transmissions\r\nSome computer fax/modem hardware will not accurately transmit \r\nfax data to another computer fax/modem unit. If you have difficulty \r\nsending or receiving faxes between two fax/modems, consult your \r\nfax/modem's manufacturer for information about compatibility \r\nissues.\r\n\r\nViewing Cover Pages in the Transmit Log\r\nFaxMaster does not display cover pages of faxes you have sent. \r\nTo review a cover page, highlight the thumbnail of the fax in the \r\nLog view. Select Fax Statistics in the Help menu and click Cover \r\nPage. The dialog box will list any text message or bitmap file you \r\nsent with the fax's cover page.\r\n\r\nEditing Recognized Text\r\nIn Text view, FaxMaster displays recognized text in three colors: \r\nBlue indicates a word was spell-checked and replaced; Green \r\nindicates a word was not found in the dictionary and is probably \r\nincorrect; Red indicates an unrecognizable character.\r\n\r\nIf Exported Text Appears in a Narrow Column\r\nWhen you export text from FaxMaster directly into another \r\napplication, text may appear in a narrow column on the left side. \r\nThis is because the margins in your application are larger than the \r\nmargins in the fax. Make the margins in your application smaller \r\nand re-import the text.\r\n\r\nUser Dictionary\r\nFaxMaster automatically spell-checks your fax after recognizing \r\ntext. It checks words against both the main dictionary and the \r\npersonal, user dictionary. If the word isn't found in either dictionary, \r\nFaxMaster may replace it with a word that it considers correct. \r\nIf your faxes contain many words not found in a standard \r\ndictionary, add these words to the user dictionary; you can build a \r\ncustom word list that includes special words used in your \r\nprofession. FaxMaster will then recognize them as correctly \r\nspelled. \r\nSelect User Dictionary in the Setup menu to edit entries in the user \r\ndictionary. This dialog box lists all the words currently in the user \r\ndictionary. \r\nThe edit box on the right lets you add a word to the list. To display \r\na word in the edit box, you can either type the word or highlight the \r\nword in the list box. You will then have the following options:\r\nAdd Click this to add the word in the edit box to your user \r\ndictionary.\r\nDelete Click this to delete the word in the edit box or a word \r\nhighlighted in the list box from your user dictionary. \r\nYou can add all the words from a particular document to your \r\npersonal dictionary or save your word list as a text file by using the \r\nImport and Export features.\r\nImport This lets you add words in a text file to your user dictionary. \r\nFor example, you may want to add technical terms from a particular \r\ndocument. The Import dialog box prompts you for a file name; enter \r\nthe file name of the document that contains words you want in your \r\nuser dictionary. The program will go through the text file, discard \r\nwords already in the main or user dictionaries, and add the words \r\nthat are left to your user dictionary.\r\nThe imported text file can be any document or word list in ASCII \r\nformat. Most word processors can convert a file into ASCII format; \r\nsee your program's documentation.\r\nExport This lets you save your user dictionary as a text file. When \r\nyou select Export, a dialog box will prompt you for a file name and \r\ndestination. You can use the text file in other dictionaries or save it \r\nfor later use with FaxMaster.\r\nOK This saves your edited dictionary and exits the User Dictionary \r\noption.\r\nCancel This exits the User Dictionary function without saving any \r\nchanges.\r\n\r\nApplication Notes\r\nGraphics Applications - Exporting Text FaxMaster will not export \r\ntext directly into some graphics applications. In FaxMaster, copy \r\nthe text to the Windows clipboard. Then paste it into your work \r\nwithin your graphics application.\r\nAmi Pro 2.0 To export text directly from FaxMaster to Ami Pro, \r\nyou'll need to install the Ami Pro RTF file format converter. See \r\nyour Ami Pro documentation for instructions. Ami Pro version 1.2 \r\ndoes not work with this release of FaxMaster.\r\nExcel 1.0, 2.0 These applications do not work with this release of \r\nFaxMaster.\r\nLegacy, Lotus 123 You may export only one fax page of text \r\ndirectly into these applications. If you're working with a multiple-\r\npage fax, save all the fax text as a file and then import the file.\r\nPageMaker Before exporting text to PageMaker, toggle the \r\nPageMaker Autoflow option (available in the Options menu) on. \r\nVentura Publisher You may export only one fax page of text \r\ndirectly into Ventura. If you're working with a multiple-page fax, \r\nsave all the fax text as a file and then import the file.\r\nWingZ After you select the FaxMaster... command, the FaxMaster \r\nwindow will move behind WingZ.
