  "desc_text": "\r\n3.1 LAN PACKAGE README FILE\r\n\r\nThere are two additions to the new features incorporated in Version 3.1 of the \r\ncc:Mail LAN Package that were not added in time to be included in the Version \r\n3.1 Release Notes.  They include:\r\n\r\no  cc:Mail DOS Shell \r\n\r\no  HOME and END Keys Edit Subjects and Titles\r\n\r\nCC:MAIL DOS SHELL\r\n\r\ncc:Mail users running the 3.1 LAN Package on their MS-DOS PCs can now \r\nreturn to DOS and enter DOS commands without leaving the cc:Mail application \r\nby using cc:Mail's new DOS shell feature.  \r\n\r\nTo return to DOS from within cc:Mail, users must be at a cc:Mail menu.  The \r\nDOS shell feature cannot be accessed from within a cc:Mail message, message \r\nitem, or while addressing a cc:Mail message.\r\n\r\nTo access the DOS shell:\r\n\r\no  Press F9 while at a cc:Mail menu .  The Microsoft MS-DOS copyright screen \r\nappears along with the DOS prompt showing your current drive and directory.\r\n\r\no  Type any DOS command you desire and press ENTER.  The DOS command \r\nis executed as any other DOS command.\r\n\r\no  When you are finished entering DOS commands, type EXIT at the DOS \r\nprompt.  You are returned to the cc:Mail menu you were using when you \r\nentered the DOS Shell.\r\n\r\nHOME AND END KEYS\r\n\r\nThe HOME and END keys now move the cursor when you are editing the \r\nSubject: line of a cc:Mail message, and while editing message item titles.\r\n\r\nPress END to move the cursor to the right end of the subject or the message \r\nitem title.  Press HOME to move the cursor to the left end of the line.\r\n\r\nThe HOME and END keys also move the cursor to the left and right ends of the \r\ntext item margin line while you are setting the left and right text item margins\r\n.\r\n\r\nPress END to move the cursor to the right end of the margin line.  Press HOME \r\nto move the cursor to the left end of the margin line.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nRUNNING CC:MAIL WITH WINDOWS\r\n\r\nIf  you run the cc:Mail Version 3.1 LAN Package with Microsoft Windows, you \r\nmust create a PIF file named MAIL.PIF using the Program Information (PIF) \r\nEditor.  Type the following information in the PIF Editor screen:\r\n\r\nProgram Name:  MAIL.EXE\r\nProgram Title:  cc:Mail\r\nKB Required:  350\r\nKB Desired: 350\r\nUSAGE:  Full Screen [X]\r\nProgram Switch:  (*)  Graphics/Multiple Text\r\nScreen Exchange: (*) Graphics/Text\r\nClose Window on Exit [X]\r\n\r\nYou may put your own name and password in the Parameters field.  The Initial \r\nDirectory field may be blank, or be a private work area.\r\n\r\nInclude the TONE parameter in the Notify and Messenger DOS command lines  \r\nto prevent the pop-up window from conflicting with the Windows screen."
