Modem Script Files\r\n\r\n\r\nA. HOW TO PRINT THESE NOTES\r\n============================\r\n\r\nTo print these notes:\r\n\r\n 1. Type: copy readme.txt printer:\r\n Replace \"printer:\" with the port to which your printer is connected,\r\n such as lpt1.\r\n 2. Press ENTER.\r\n\t\r\nTo print to a postscript printer, open this document in Windows Notepad, \r\nWindows Write, or any word processor application, and choose the Print\r\ncommand.\r\n\r\n\r\nB. SPECIFYING THE AMOUNT OF MEMORY FOR THE LISTEN PROGRAM\r\n==========================================================\r\n\r\nUse the -Y option to specify the amount of memory in kilobytes for the\r\nListen program. If you do not specify the amount of memory, 32K is used.\r\nThe minimum amount you can specify is 12K and the maximum amount is 36K.\r\n\r\nFormat: LISTEN [-Ynn]\r\n\r\nFor example, to handle a larger modem script, start LISTEN with 36K of \r\nmemory:\r\n\r\nLISTEN -Y36\r\n\r\n\r\nC. RECOMMENDED SCRIPT SIZE LIMITS\r\n==================================\r\n\r\nFor best performance, run the Transmit program with 112K of memory \r\navailable and use a script no larger than 5K. Run the Listen program\r\nwith 128K of memory available and scripts no larger than 3.5K. While \r\nlarger scripts may be used, you may be short of memory when receiving \r\nmail.\r\n\r\n\r\nD. MIXING REMOTE AND POSTOFFICE LANGUAGE VERSIONS\r\n==================================================\r\n\r\nTo use Microsoft Mail Remote with a postoffice of a different\r\nlanguage, the same language version of the MS-DOS client as the\r\nRemote client must first be installed. Then choose the Remote \r\nRegenerate command in the Administrator program before creating\r\nthe Remote Data Disk for the Remote user. This creates the correct\r\ntemplate files for the Remote client.\r\n\r\nFor example, to use the French Remote client on a German \r\npostoffice, the French MS-DOS client must be installed on the \r\npostoffice. \r\n\r\n\r\nE.
