Check printing on HP LaserJet Series IIp & IIIp \r\n---------------------------------------------------\r\nIf you experience check printing text alignment problems \r\non these printers, please contact Hewlett-Packard or your\r\nprinter dealer to acquire the latest release of the \r\nHPPCL5A.DRV driver file. Installing this driver via \r\nthe Windows Control Panel fixes these problems. \r\n\t\r\nIf this will not work to correct the problem or if you \r\nhave difficulty locating the necessary driver, then you\r\ncan adjust the location of printed text on your checks\r\nas described in the next topic.\r\n\r\n2. Fine-tuning check printing on laser printers\r\n------------------------------------------------\r\nMicrosoft Money automatically prints information in the\r\nproper position on your checks. However, due to printer\r\nvariations and check variations, you may want to fine-tune\r\nthe print location yourself.\r\n\r\nUse a text editor (such as Windows Notepad) to add the \r\nfollowing line to your MSMONEY.INI file (located in \r\nthe directory where you installed Microsoft Money):\r\n\r\nPrintOffset=pY pX lY lX\r\n\r\npY Vertical print offset for checks in Portrait mode\r\n (full page of checks)\r\n\r\npX Horizontal print offset for checks in Portrait mode\r\n (full page of checks)\r\n\r\nlY Vertical print offset for checks in Landscape mode\r\n (partial page of checks)\r\n\r\nlX Horizontal print offset for checks in Landscape mode\r\n (partial page of checks)\r\n\r\nAll variables are expressed in integers (positive or \r\nnegative) and represent offsets in sixteenths (1/16) of \r\nan inch.\r\n\r\nExample: Print Offset 2 0 -1 4 would do the following\r\nFull Pages of checks would print 1/8\" lower than normal.\r\nPartial Pages of checks would print 1/16\" higher than \r\nnormal AND 1/4\" to the right of normal.\r\n\r\n3. Importing information from CheckFree(tm)\r\n--------------------------------------------\r\nWhen you export your Checkfree data to a QIF file and\r\nimport that QIF file into Microsoft Money, you will\r\nneed to make an adjustment to the opening balance of\r\nyour new Microsoft Money account. After importing,\r\nplease choose Account List from the List menu and\r\nenter the correct opening balance for the account\r\nimported from Checkfree.\r\n\r\n4. Printing checks on the HP Deskjet printer\r\n---------------------------------------------\r\nMicrosoft Money recommends using Laser Voucher checks\r\nwith this printer or printing Laser Standard checks in\r\nbatches of three (to avoid printing on partial pages\r\nof checks).\r\n\r\nThe Deskjet's design makes it difficult to correctly\r\nalign partial sheets of checks and the default \r\nlandscape font provides less than optimal results.\r\n \r\nAdditionally, certain versions of the DeskJet 500 driver \r\ncan cause out of memory errors. Updating the driver or \r\nusing the DESKJET.DRV driver from Windows 3.00a or \r\nhigher solves this problem. \r\n\r\n5. Printing on a Kyocera F-2010 laser printer\r\n----------------------------------------------\r\nMicrosoft Money recommends using Laser Voucher checks\r\nwith this printer or printing Laser Standard checks in\r\nbatches of three (to avoid printing on partial pages\r\nof checks).\r\n\r\nThe Kyocera F-2010 printer will not print the leftmost\r\nthree inches of the page when printing in landscape\r\nmode using the printer's manual feed. You can try\r\nprinting partial pages from the letter-sized tray, but\r\nproper alignment of partial sheets of checks in the\r\ntray may be difficult.\r\n\r\n6. Printing checks on IBM 4019 & 4029 laser printers \r\n-----------------------------------------------------\r\nWhen printing a partial page of laser standard checks, \r\nthe manual feed orientation is the same as for a \r\nnormal 8.5 by 11 inch page. Do not rotate the partial \r\npage \"90 degrees\" as described in the Microsoft Money\r\ndocumentation. \r\n \r\n7. Printing reports on the Canon LBP-811 \r\n-----------------------------------------\r\nWhen printing reports on this printer there can be column \r\nalignment problems, missing text and missing underlines \r\nand other potential printing errors. \r\n \r\nPlease contact your printer dealer to inquire about updates\r\nto the Windows drivers for this printer. \r\n \r\n8. Printing on the Canon Bubble-Jet BJ-10e\r\n-------------------------------------------\r\nIf you are running Windows 3.00 or 3.00a, you will need \r\nto make two adjustments before using Microsoft Money with \r\na Canon Bubble-Jet BJ-10e printer. \r\n\r\nAfter you have installed the Bubble-Jet driver, you will\r\nneed to change all occurrences of \"Canon BJ-10e\" in your\r\nWIN.INI file to \"Canon Bubble-Jet BJ-10e\". To do this, you\r\nwill need to open your WIN.INI file with a text editor (such\r\nas Windows Notepad). Search for all occurrences of Canon\r\nBJ-10e (if you are using Notepad, use the Find command on\r\nthe Search menu). When you find an occurrence, please\r\nchange the text to Canon Bubble-Jet BJ-10e. When you have\r\nchanged all occurrences, save the file and restart Microsoft\r\nWindows.\r\n\r\nYou will also need to add a line to your MSMONEY.INI file\r\n(located in the same directory as MSMONEY.EXE). To do this,\r\nyou will need to open your MSMONEY.INI file with a text \r\neditor (such as Windows Notepad). Add the following line to\r\nthe file:\r\n\r\nUseDefaultPrSetup=1\r\n\r\nSave the file and restart Microsoft Windows. You will now\r\nbe able to print on the Bubble-Jet. Microsoft Money\r\nrecommends using Laser Voucher checks or printing Laser\r\nStandard checks in batches of three (to avoid printing\r\npartial pages of checks). When printing, you may receive a\r\nspurious error alert \"Invalid DC Index: 13\". Just\r\npress Enter to continue and you will be able to print\r\nnormally. Remember to remove these changes if you decide to\r\nuse another printer with Microsoft Money.\r\n\r\n9. NEC 800x600 video display adapters \r\n--------------------------------------\r\nCertain versions of this display adaptor may have refresh \r\nand display problems. If you experience a significant \r\nnumber of display errors (missing text, partially drawn\r\nscreens etc) then please contact your NEC dealer for further\r\ninformation and the most recent display driver.\r\n\r\n10. Texas Instruments TIGA video display adapters\r\n-------------------------------------------------\r\nThe list dialog boxes in Microsoft Money may display\r\nincorrectly with the current driver for the TIGA video\r\ndisplay adapter.\r\n\r\nThis display problem can be corrected by making the\r\nfollowing change to the MSMONEY.INI file (located\r\nin the directory where you installed Microsoft Money).\r\n\r\nUse a text editor (such as Windows Notepad) to add the \r\nfollowing line to your MSMONEY.INI file:\r\n\r\nNoLightGray=1\r\n\r\nFuture versions of the driver may correct this problem,\r\nallowing you to remove the line from your MSMONEY.INI file." }
