"desc_text": " Welcome to Sidekick 2.0\r\n ----------------------------------------------------------\r\n\r\n This README file contains important information about\r\n Sidekick 2.0. For the latest information about Sidekick 2.0 \r\n and the manuals, read this file in its entirety.\r\n\r\n\r\nTABLE OF CONTENTS\r\n-----------------\r\n1. Important Information\r\n2. Files on the Disks\r\n\r\n1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION\r\n------------------------\r\n\r\n - INSTALLING: You MUST use the INSTALL program to install\r\n Sidekick 2.0. The files on the distribution disks are \r\n archived and have to be properly assembled. You cannot do\r\n this.\r\n\r\n - QEMM.SYS users: Do not use command line switch or parameter\r\n \"Frame =A000-AFFF\". Sidekick uses this area.\r\n\r\n - NETWORK Users: The User Dictionary (USER.DIC) is not a \r\n sharable file. In SKCONFIG, under Network, User Dictionary \r\n Directory should be your private directory.\r\n\r\n - On a NOVELL network your CAPTURE command must contain \"/NT\" \r\n for no tabs AND \"/TI=15\" for time out, for example,\r\n\r\n capture /NT /TI=15\r\n\r\n Other networks may require a similar statement.\r\n\r\n - When converting SK 1.x Dialer files, you must define the\r\n format of the dialer in a text file with the extension .fmt.\r\n The following naming convention is used for these .fmt files.\r\n\r\n SKCONVER will first look for a file called <fname>.fmt\r\n where <fname> is the name of your Dialer file. Using the\r\n SK Classic default, this would be \"phone.fmt\".\r\n\r\n If no <fname>.fmt file is found, then SKCONVER will look\r\n for a file named \"default.fmt\".\r\n\r\n If neither of these files exist, then the conversion\r\n will not continue.\r\n\r\n The .fmt file must be in the same directory that contains\r\n SKCONVER. For details on how to structure the .fmt file, read\r\n the \"default.fmt\" file that is in your SK2 directory.\r\n\r\n - CHANGING SORT ORDER:\r\n Copy the appropriate .SOR file to PARADOX.SOR\r\n\r\n Delete all .PX files\r\n\r\n Run SKCONVER, using the Rebuild option, on each database \r\n file.\r\n\r\n - Sidekick Plus TimePlanner files that are converted will have\r\n to be edited if any entries contained an alarm to dial a\r\n VOICE/DATA number. Sidekick PLUS alarms used the \"INDEX\"\r\n field to specify which number to dial. Sidekick 2.0 uses\r\n \"Last Name, First Name\" fields for VOICE calls and \"Service\"\r\n for DATA numbers.\r\n\r\n - LOADING: SK2/? Use to see list of command line parameters, \r\n when loading Sidekick.\r\n\r\n - PRINTING: If printing using a \"cut sheet feeder\" make sure \r\n you have set the dip switches correctly. Check the your \r\n printer manual for \"out of paper\" situations.\r\n\r\n - Monthly text prints out day titles only, NO appointments.\r\n\r\n - When using opposed pages during printing, you will want\r\n to increase the right margin to allow space for hole\r\n punching.\r\n\r\nPrinter/mode/size \tTop\tBottom\tLeft\tRight\r\n=================\t\t===\t======\t====\t=====\r\nPostScript/text/letter\t\t1.300\t1.000\t0.750\t0.500\r\nHP Laserjet/AB text/letter\t0.500\t1.400\t0.750\t1.000\r\nQMS ColorScript/graphics/letter\t1.200 0.700 \t0.750 0.500\r\nHP Deskjet 500/graphics/A4\t0.500\t0.600\t0.750\t0.500\r\nQMS PS-410a/graphics/A4 \t0.700\t0.500\t0.750\t0.500\r\n\r\n - When printing text to an HP Laserjet type printer, you \r\n should select a font, on the printer, that supports the \r\n extended ASCII character set.\r\n\r\n - ATTACHED NOTES: Maximum file size for attached note in Time \r\n Planner is 6,000 characters. Maximum size for attached notes \r\n in Address Book and Communications is 48,000 characters.\r\n\r\n2.
