or delete any of the files installed by Gallery \r\nEffects. For example, you should not move or delete \r\nthe items that are installed in the ALDUS or \r\nCLASSIC.GE directories.\r\n\r\n________________________________________\r\n\r\n\r\nINFORMATION ON USING THE EFFECTS\r\n\r\nIMAGE MAY APPEAR DARK AFTER \r\nAPPLYING CERTAIN EFFECTS\r\nIf you apply certain effects to an image in which \r\nthere is not much variation in brightness, the image \r\nmay appear very dark. In particular, this may occur \r\nwith Fresco, Dark Strokes, and Watercolor, since \r\nthese effects are best suited for images with a wide \r\nvariation in brightness.\r\n\r\n\r\nPREVIEW MAY NOT LOOK EXACTLY LIKE FINAL RESULT\r\nThe preview in the Effect Settings dialog box \r\ncorresponds as closely as possible to how the effect \r\nwill look when applied to the entire image or \r\nselection. With some effects and images, there can be \r\na discrepancy between the preview and the final \r\nresult. This is because the preview shows the effect \r\nas it appears on a portion of the image or selection. \r\nTo obtain a better indication of the final result, \r\npreview several different areas of the image before \r\napplying the effect to the image.\r\n\r\n\r\nIF PREVIEW FRAME IS NOT EASILY VISIBLE IN PREVIEW\r\nIn rare cases, if you are working with an image \r\ncontaining a lot of noise, the preview frame in the \r\nEffect Settings dialog box may not be easily visible \r\nin the preview. The preview frame is actually there, \r\nbut may not be easily visible because of the visual \r\ninteraction with the image in the preview. To move \r\nthe preview frame, move the pointer over the center \r\nof the preview, the cursor will change to a four-way \r\narrow allowing you to move the preview frame.\r\n\r\n________________________________________\r\n\r\n\r\nINFORMATION ON THE GALLERY EFFECTS APPLICATION\r\n\r\nNUMBERS MAY BE ROUNDED IN DOCUMENT INFO \r\nDIALOG BOX\r\nWhen specifying an image size in the New Document \r\nand Resize Document dialog boxes, in any unit of \r\nmeasurement other pixels, the numbers will be \r\nrounded to the nearest whole pixel value. Thus, the \r\nsizes in the Document Info dialog box may differ \r\nvery slightly from what you specified.\r\n\r\n\r\nIF SMALL WHITE AREAS APPEAR WHEN \r\nPASTING INTO A SELECTION\r\nIn some instances, pasting an irregular selection into \r\nanother irregular selection may cause very small \r\nwhite areas to appear. If this occurs, try using the \r\nrectangle selection tool to select the image you want to \r\npaste and then paste it into the irregular selection.\r\n\r\n\r\nSELECTIONS WITH OPTA MONALISA OR \r\nRADIUS MULTIVIEW 24 CARD\r\nWhen using the Opta MonaLisa or Radius MultiView \r\n24 graphics card, selections may blink on and off \r\ninstead of appearing as moving dashed lines \r\n(marquee).\r\n\r\n________________________________________\r\n\r\n\r\nINFORMATION FOR ALDUS« PHOTOSTYLER(tm) 1.1 USERS\r\n\r\nIF AN IMAGE TURNS A SOLID COLOR, WHITE, OR \r\nBLACK AFTER APPLYING AN EFFECT \r\nSeveral effects (Charcoal, Chalk and Charcoal, and \r\nGraphic Pen) use PhotoStylerÆs foreground and \r\nbackground colors when applying the effect. If both \r\nthe foreground and background colors are the same \r\ncolor or both white or black, the image will appear \r\nthat color, white or black when applying one of the \r\nabove three effects. You should make sure that\r\nthe foreground color and the background color\r\nare different prior to applying one of these \r\nthree effects.\r\n\r\n________________________________________\r\n\r\n\r\nFOR FRACTAL DESIGN PAINTER(tm) 1.2 USERS\r\n\r\nEFFECTS CANNOT BE PERFORMED ON MOVED OR \r\nPASTED SELECTIONS\r\nIf you paste a selection into a document or move an \r\nexisting selection, you can choose an effect but \r\nnothing happens. To overcome this problem, you \r\nshould deselect the current selection and then reselect it \r\nprior to choosing an effect.\r\n\r\n\r\nEFFECTS CANNOT BE APPLIED TO FRISKETS\r\nEven though the effects can be selected from the \r\nFilter cascading menu when a frisket is present, \r\nPainter does not apply the effects to the frisket.\r\n\r\n\r\nFRISKET GETS CREATED AFTER APPLYING AN EFFECT\r\nIf you make a selection and apply an effect, Painter \r\ncreates a frisket from the selection.
