Types of Icons

        Icons are small pictures that represent various types of applications and files. There are three types of icons in Windows.
        Program-item icon represents an application you can start from Windows. Most program-item icons look unique. However,icons for many MS-DOS-based applications are identical. Agroup might contain several MS-DOS-based applications. The icon label is the only way to distinguish which application the icon represents.
        Application icon represents a programs-item icon(an application)that was stared and then reduced to an icon.
        Group or document icon generally appears along the lower edge of the application window and represents a group or document window that was reduced to an icaon. This icon can be moved anywhere within the application window.
        图标的类型
        图标是代表不同类型的应用程序和文件的小图形。在WINDOWS中有三种类型的图标。
        程序项图标代表一个你可以从WINDOWS启动的应用程序。大多数程序项图标看上去是唯一的。然而，许多MS-DOS应用程序的图标是相同的。一组可能包含几个MS-DOS的应用程序。图标标签是区别图标代表哪个应用程序的唯一方法。
        应用程序图标代表一个启动后缩小为图标的程序项图标(一个应用程序)。
        组或文本图标通常沿着应用程序窗口的底下边缘出现，代表一个缩小为图标的组或文本窗口。这个图标可以移动到应用程序窗口中的任何地方。
