        1.It can extend the useful lifespan of the screen.  That is, if this function is set up, the operator leave the computer temporarily for a few minutes, the Windows screen will automatically slowly turn dark. So the loss of screen is decreased to the least. When the screen is used, what the operator merely do is press any key or use the mouse, the screen can resume the previous status at once.
        2.It can prevent the another person from disrupting the scene. In other words, if the password is set up in the screen procection, when someone use the keyboard or mouse, the system inquire the password first, if the password is correct, the screen can resume the previous status. therefor the scene is effectively protected.
        3.It can descrase the harmful rays which the screen is send out, it is good for the health of the operator.
        Windows 3.1屏幕保护的优点
        1.可以延长屏幕的有效寿命，即设置了该功能后，当操作员暂时离开微机几分钟时，Windows屏幕将自动慢慢地变暗，于是，屏幕的损耗减少到最小程度。当再次使用屏幕时，操作员只需按任意键或者使用鼠标，屏幕又可马上恢复到原来的状态。
        2.可以防止他人破坏操作员的现场。也就是说，如果在屏幕保护中设置了口令，当别人使用键盘或鼠标时，系统会首先询问口令，如果口令正确，屏幕才能恢复到原来的状态，从而有效地保护了现场。
        3.可以减少屏幕发射出来的有害射线，有利于操作员的身体健康。
