Unfotunately, this means that the card that fits into an expansion slot to provide an interface between drive and PC has to be changed.
An upgrade of this kind is still fairly simple, however, a little tike upgrading a CD-ROM dirve. As well as the drive itself, you have to put a new card in a spare expansion slot. Just remove a blanking plate and slot the new card into the hole and remember to connect the hard drive to this card instead of the old IDE controller which will probably still be connected to the floppy drive.
Beyond this extra feature, the rest of the upgrade should be as straight forward as the IDE-to-IDE upgrade. If you have bought a pre-formatted dirve, the new one should kick in with ease, but a SCSIcard will always come supplied with formatting software. Follow the instructions carefully and the new drive should be ready in no time.
